RCSI OSCE Practice

Assessment of competence for practice through a range of OSCEs includes a number of different simulated stations. A station is set up as a clinical setting and has all the necessary equipment.

You are required to complete 14 stations. Each station assesses different competencies pertaining to general nursing.

Each station has a descriptor sheet and this is displayed both outside and inside the station and is available for you to refer to as you need.

You spend 10 minutes at each station carrying out the care as per the station descriptor. There are a number of aims and competencies that you are expected to achieve at each station.

1. Our group of experienced and trained instructors will provide real-life tutorials and tips.
2. We will coach you on how to pass the examinations. AND YOUR DREAM COMES TRUE

This study buddy program will cover up to 20 most common topics as applicable. We will update the list as required.

Note: Telegram group will be open for support daily Monday to Friday within the hours of 7pm-9pm * 

Times of classes will be scheduled as  practicable as possible and zoom classes will be communicated to suit the majority. Any changes will be given way beforehand.

Mode of assessment: This will include the following

• Assessor assessment: You will need to complete your activities and submit to your buddy assessor for assessment
• Self assessment: Some activities will require you to act alone and self assess yourself either by your own ability or by computed works or by both
• Peer assessment: You will be grouped for some activities and will assess yourselves. This exposes you to seeing the CBT/OSCE from a different perspective
• Mock: As arranged on your study plan, this will be done at the end of the program. It will mimic the real test

Conclusion: You will be provided with a certificate of completion and advised to keep practicing. The group will be kept open for 1 month (4 weeks) after completion. This is to support you so you can still seek support and ask questions or submit practice work for peer review until you take your test as you are advised to take your test immediately after the class no later than 1 month. After this period you will graduate off the platform and the group will be dissolved
