Being a newbie on LinkedIn (I’m just about 3 months on this social media), I’m always intrigued seeing young people that are awarded scholarships.

I celebrate, comment on their posts and always wished I would be privileged to win one or more scholarships sooner or later.

So, this day, I saw the flyer and link for FNS application on LinkedIn. I was really happy seeing that I fit into the eligibility criteria. I applied and moved on with life (you know, winks).

I received a congratulatory mail the next week saying I’d be proceeding to the interview phase. I was super excited. I thereafter set a convinient interview date and time and shared the goodnews with my loved ones who encouraged and prayed for me. I did some little research on online scholarship interviews (FNS’ was my first, winks).

Fast forward to the interview day, I was set in my formal wear after ascertaining that my gadgets were in good shape. I was punctual (you know what they say about punctuality and business, smiles).

Although the interview was a little bit rigorous, I tried my best while maintaining a good eye contact with my interviewers (man has to do what man has to do, you know). The interview ended at the slated time.

I’ve never been glued to my mail the way I did the last one week. I prayed, hoped and couldn’t stop checking my mail. I woke up this morning to see my congratulatory mail on being selected for the scholarship. I couldn’t contain the joy. I’m still excited as I write (smiles).

As stated during my interview, I’d use the scholarship award for registration of my registered public health nursing examination.

Thanks to the organizers; Future Nursing Scholarship board and sponsors of this award.

I think this is the first in the history of Nursing Nigeria, and I’m excited to be a beneficiary. God bless you all.
